Fraud Alert: Unauthorized Requests for Quotations and Purchase Orders
It has come to our attention that a number of companies have received fraudulent requests for quotations and also fraudulent purchase orders from an individual using the name James White and misrepresenting himself as an employee at Anixter. The email address this individual is using is email@example.com. This individual is attempting to order products and have them shipped to what he is claiming are Anixter locations but in reality are typically residential addresses all over the United States.
This is an example of text from one of the fraudulent emails, but please note that the items being requested or language used may vary from one email to another:

Sent: Tuesday, August 18, 2015 5:50 PM
Subject: RE: Product Interested
Thank you for the reply..However, Here is the product we are interested on see below:
1.Hp Zbook 17 intel core i7 quad core,1tb,16gb,17''windows 8 pro.............(38) Units.
We await your response on this issue.

This individual has no connection to Anixter and is using our name and logo solely for the purpose of committing fraud. If you receive any correspondence from an email address ending in anixter-inc.com please do not respond. If you have any questions regarding the validity of a purchase order please call 1.800.323.8167.
Anixter's Legal Department is working with federal authorities, as well as the companies involved with the registration of the domain name anixter-inc.com and the associated email addresses in order to put a stop to this fraudulent activity.
