Anixter recently was presented with the 2015 Supplier Diversity Crystal Award from AT&T for exceeding their minority and woman-owned business utilization targets. This award recognizes Anixter’s commitment to support diversity programs and suppliers while also helping customers achieve their goals. .
“We are honored to have received the Diversity Crystal Award from AT&T,” said David Pierce, Anixter director of AT&T global business development. “Anixter has been committed to providing diversity leadership for decades, and we continually look for ways to promote and embrace diversity partners in all aspects of our business.”
This is the second time in three years Anixter has been presented with the award. Anixter has focused on providing material to AT&T through its diversity channels by working with woman-owned or minority-owned businesses. “AT&T’s latest focus has been on working with disabled veterans and the LGBT community,” said Pierce. “Anixter has focused on finding suppliers and integrators that could help AT&T realize its goals.”
As more companies look to develop diversity among their suppliers, Anixter continues to lend its experience to companies such as AT&T to promote diversity among its suppliers, integrators and other customers.
In addition to supporting the AT&T diversity program, last year Anixter spent more than $84 million with more than 645 small, minority-owned, women-owned and disabled veteran business enterprises. Anixter continues to provide opportunities for subcontracting, purchasing or reselling, teaming arrangements and mentor-protégé programs. To help its U.S. customers report on their indirect diversity purchases from Anixter, Anixter has continued to distribute electronic diversity reports each quarter as it has done since 1999.
