On March 31, 27 high school students from Niles West High School arrived at Anixter’s headquarters in Glenview as part of a Junior Achievement Job ShadowTM Day. Junior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
As part of an industry that depends on the skills and talents of electrical engineers and technical experts, 50 of Anixter business professionals participated in the event, sparking the interest and imagination of tomorrow’s skilled workforce. During the student’s day of job shadowing Anixter professionals they learned about Anixter and participated in key workshops on resume writing, interviewing and networking to prepare them for their future.
Feedback following the event has been nothing but positive with Jean Attig, Business Education at Niles West, proclaiming “Every comment has been positive and the students cannot wait to come back another day at Anixter.”
