Bill Brooks has over 25 years of experience designing, installing and evaluating grid-connected PV systems. He is actively involved in the development of the California Fire Guidelines and the National Electrical Code (NEC) Article 690 (Solar Photovoltaic Systems).

Fire Captain Matthew Paiss is a 20-year veteran of the San Jose Fire Department. He is the IAFF primary representative to the NEC (P-04) and the owner of Energy Response Solutions. He is a member of UL Standards Technical Panels 1703 & 1741, and has written for Fire Engineering, SolarPro and Home Power magazines.
