Atlas-X1 System Receives Gold-Level Award in Cabling Installation & Maintenance 2016 Innovators Awards Program

Bothell, Washington - Leviton's Atlas-X1™ structured cabling system was recognized by the judges of the annual Cabling Installation & Maintenance Innovators Awards program. Leviton was honored with a Gold-level award.

Alan Bergstein, publisher of Cabling Installation & Maintenance ( said, "This prestigious program allows Cabling Installation & Maintenance to celebrate and recognize the most innovative products and services in the structured cabling industry.” The judging panel consisted of cabling and communications system specifiers, designers, integrators and managers with vast professional experience.

The winning Atlas-X1 category-rated system is easily scalable for migrations up to 40GBASE-T. It supports simple tool-free termination, and uses the same termination method from Cat 5e to Cat 8. Atlas-X1 systems have been tested and approved for plenum-rated in-ceiling applications, and the Cat 6A system can deliver up to 100-watt Power over Ethernet (PoE).

“We are honored to receive this Gold-level award for innovation,” said Frank Kim, vice president of engineering at Leviton Network Solutions. “The design team worked hard to develop a feature-rich connector that incorporates all of the important design functions necessary for mission-critical networks. With Atlas-X1, customers benefit from tested and proven performance, tool-free termination, color shielded faces and icons, optional integrated shutters and greater heat dissipation in high-wattage PoE applications, as well as Leviton patented Retention Force Technology to prevent tine damage, save on costly repairs and increase overall system longevity.”

Many Leviton customers have confirmed that the Atlas-X1 is the most user-friendly, category-rated connector on the market. Bruce Ventura, owner of Innovative High Technology, Inc. says, “The Atlas-X1 provides dead-on quality and it is easy to install, saving us valuable time on site. My team loves them.”

The Innovators Awards are judged based on innovation, value to the user, sustainability, meeting a defined need, collaboration and impact.
