Fraud Alert: Fraudulent Requests for Quotations and Purchase Orders
It has come to our attention that a number of companies have received fraudulent requests for quotations and also fraudulent purchase orders from an individual using the name Robert Wyan and misrepresenting himself as an employee at Anixter. The email address this individual is using is firstname.lastname@example.org. This individual is attempting to order products and have them shipped to what he is claiming are Anixter locations but in reality are typically residential addresses all over the United States. This individual upon request is also submitting bank and D&B information for Anixter.
This is an example of text from one of the fraudulent emails, but please note that the items being requested or language used may vary from one email to another:

This individual has no connection to Anixter and is using our name and logo solely for the purpose of committing fraud. If you receive any correspondence from an email address ending in anixterinc.com, please do not respond. If you have any questions regarding the validity of a purchase order, please call 1.800.323.8167.
Anixter's Legal Department is working with federal authorities as well as the companies involved with the registration of the domain name anixterinc.com and the associated email addresses in order to put a stop to this fraudulent activity.
