Envisioning the Future 2018

For the third year in a row, Anixter Mexico held the "Envisioning the Future" event for current and prospective EDGE channels, leading manufacturers and top-tier keynote speakers.

Over three days - from September 5 to 8 at the Xcaret Hotel in the Riviera Maya - we talked about Anixter’s renewed vision for doing business as a result of key market trends and technological innovations that impact the future, and a different way of exploring synergies with end customers by providing solutions as a service and the laser-sharp focus on the customer experience.

We created this event based on the need to bring together our main channels and the vendors that we distribute to come up with new ways of growing our business together by leveraging and influencing technology, market and even consumer trends.

In 2017, the event’s main theme was 'digital transformation'. This year, the next step was to identify and address current and emerging purchase criteria that customers consider before making technology investments so we can be prepared for the future.

"The event, which has a reputation for being a strategic business meeting specializing in emerging information technologies, in which learning, networking and entertainment converge, represents a venue where partners, vendors and industry specialists converge to talk about products and solutions. Most importantly, they contribute to creating trends that permeate the market”, said Araceli Aguilar, RVP for Mexico at Anixter.

Araceli emphasized: "With the slogan 'Build, Connect, Power and Protect', we seek every year to share management best practices with event attendees. This is our 2018 edition shared content on best practices for channels to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to provide additional solutions and services to their customers, based on digital innovation consumer trends".

During one of the conferences, Joel Chávez, our Business Partner, conducted a role-play together with executives of CHG Meridian, clearly showing the financing services we provide to our clients, seeking with this initiative to convert their investment (CAPEX) into OPEX. This conference was very well received by our customers.

All these conferences were of great value and the main takeaway is that consumers will make purchasing decisions based on the experience they live.

Within the activities of the event, we started with an integration activity which helped break the ice and the integration between customers and vendors was closer during the entire event.

Envisioning the Future 2018 was attended by more than 40 channels from throughout Mexico, and had the support of vendors such as APC, Audio Codes, Avaya, Axis, CDVI, Charofil, Commscope, Corning, Barco, Bosch, ISS, Panduit, Plantronics, Polycom, Vertiv and Viavi.
