Drive Isolation Transformers
It is strongly recommended to magnetically isolate silicon-control rectifier (SCR) VFD systems from the rest of the power grid to minimize load disturbances caused by the drive. Drive isolation transformers are specifically designed to handle the mechanical stresses, voltage demands and harmonics associated with SCR applications. Drive isolation transformers also provide the voltage change to match the required VFD input voltage.

Variable frequency drive (VFD), also called adjustable speed drive (ASD) cables, are power cables specifically designed for use with variable frequency drives. VFD cable usually have three-phase conductors, three symmetrically positioned grounding conductors and an overall RF shield.
