Funding research into childhood cancer
St Baldricks head shave

For the seventh consecutive year, Glenview, IL-based training project manager Jim McClure has shaved his head to raise money for childhood cancer research. The local head-shaving event — one of many that take place across the U.S. and in 22 countries around the globe — supports the mission of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

When it comes to fundraising, Jim is hard to beat. This year his donations surpassed $12,000, exceeding his 2014 results. In the past two years alone Jim has raised nearly $23,700, an amount that includes the Anixter company match, to help kids with cancer.

Jim was inducted recently into the foundation’s prestigious “Knights of the Bald Table” for his long-standing dedication to the cause. He also celebrated a major milestone here at Anixter — his 35th work anniversary.
