By collecting 2,870 pounds of food, the 26-person Portland location made the top 10 companies in the state, coming in number six overall. With an original goal of collecting 500 pounds of food, the location collected more than five times that amount, far surpassing its original expectations.
"We had some great participation from our manufacturer partners out here and it was great," said Kim Sell, ECS Account Manager in Portland. "I think our location demonstrates #8 from the Blue Book pretty well: 'We are aggressive....we are "doers"....we work hard.'"
Kim is hoping to make this an annual tradition for the Portland location. "For our first run at this, we're all very happy," she said.
