ORLANDO, Feb. 3, 2016 – Anixter’s Andy Jimenez, Vice President of Technology and Labs, Networking and Security Solutions, received the 2016 Harry J. Pfister award during the BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition.
Awarded by the University of South Florida’s College of Engineering, the award recognizes the outstanding contribution to the field of telecommunications/information and communications technology. Named after past BICSI president and Winter Conference founder Harry Pfister, the award promotes the efforts of an individual who promotes professionals and enhances the scientific, technical or educational aspects of the industry.
“It’s an honor to have received this prestigious award and join the list of past recipients that have contributed so much to the ICT industry,” Jimenez said. “To be recognized by my peers as one who champions technology innovation and education is especially important.”
As an active BICSI member, Jimenez routinely presents at its yearly conferences and has been a part of several industry panels. For more than 25 years, Jimenez has worked in the telecommunications industry in a variety of technical roles.
He currently oversees Anixter’s global labs and Solutions Briefing Centers including the flagship Infrastructure Solutions Lab.

Past winners of the Pfister Award include such individuals as Jonathan Jew, Co-Chair of the TIA-942 Data Center Standard and the 2010 winner of the award; Bob Stoffels, noted author and editor; BICSI Past President Dunn Harvey, RCDD, NTS; and Joe O’Brien, in recognition of his lifelong efforts to promote fire safety in the industry.
By receiving this award, Jimenez joins a long list of Anixter people who have been recognized for excellence in various industries. With more than 100 RCDDs on staff, a UL verified Infrastructure Solutions Lab and memberships in leading industry organizations, Anixter continues a decades-long dedication to technical expertise that helps customers keep informed of the latest products, applications, industry trends, standards and emerging technologies.
