Proxim Introduces the Tsunami® QB-835 Series

A Point to Point Link with Exceptional Performance to Cost Value

Silicon Valley, CA, January 21, 2016 -  Proxim Wireless Corporation, a pioneer and global leader in advanced Wi-Fi, point to point (PtP), and point to multipoint (PtMP) wireless systems, is introducing Tsunami® QB-835 products designed for outdoor enterprise, carrier, and municipal networks.

Following the introduction of Proxim’s MP-835 low-cost but fully-featured point-to-multipoint subscriber unit, the QB-835 is the next in a line of medium capacity, robust communications products. As a member of the Proxim 800 Tsunami series, the QB-835 has all the key features customers have come to rely on from Proxim such as a small compact IP67 enclosure, carrier class reliability, and ease of installation with an integrated antenna. In addition, the QB-835 is powered by WORP, Proxim’s industry leading outdoor wireless protocol delivering QoS and efficiencies well above competing products.

Operating in the 5GHz band, the QB-835 overcomes harsh radio environments with Proxim’s ClearConnect™ technology. ClearConnect is a suite of over 13 different techniques all working together to enable robust and reliable radio communications in interference-heavy deployments.

Additionally, for easier and effortless management, QB-835 is supported by ProximVision™ Advanced, an advanced Cloud Based Carrier Management System which gives network engineers unparalleled flexibility, control, and supervision. Some of the many benefits include rapid network deployment, granular configuration capabilities, and fault management.

Each endpoint has a single 100 BaseT interface and is powered via PoE, reducing parts and complexity for those deployments that are just looking for basic connectivity. With an operating temperature range of -30C to 50C, the QB-835 can operate in all but the most severe environments.

Ideal for enterprise network extensions or small cell backhaul, the QB-835 can be purchased at an initial capacity
of 25Mbps, and when business warrants, upgraded via software to 50Mbps.

“The QB-835 brings economy to municipalities, enterprises and carriers without forcing them to compromise on reliability,” said Greg Marzullo, President and CEO of Proxim Wireless. “With a standard two year warranty and all of the features that one has come to expect from Tsunami, customers will no longer have to trade off performance with price.”

Features & Benefits

  • Carrier Class Reliability
Leveraging Proxim's proprietary ClearConnectTM and WORP®, the Tsunami® QB-835 delivers unmatched outdoor wireless performance with high QoS, low latency and minimal jitter even in the most hostile RF conditions.
  • Medium Bandwidth Applications
QB-835 has been designed for applications that require low to medium capacity. The QB-835 offers two TCP throughput variations starting at 25 Mbps it can be license upgraded to 50 Mbps on-demand.
  • Easy to Install
QB-835 is one of the easiest -to-install broadband wireless bridges on the market. Requiring no training or minimal wireless experience, it can be installed in an hour. Furthermore the QB-835 uses global. license free frequency bands and comes complete with accessories and advanced installation tools to simplify deployment.
  • Robust and Compact Design
