TE TAC Fiber System

TE introduces Thermal Adhesive Coated (TAC) Fiber System for Faster Indoor Fiber Installations and Improved Aesthetics. System will mitigate many challenges faced by optical fiber installers in indoor applications.

TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity, debuts a new fiber installation system that enables fast, flexible and discrete deployment of fiber optic cable in indoor environments. The thermal adhesive coated (TAC) fiber system uses a unique handheld tool and 900 micron fiber cable with integrated adhesive to enable a fast, consistent method for installing fiber throughout a building with minimal visibility. The portable fiber system can be used for any indoor installation – minimizing the installer’s equipment costs and speeding time on the premises.

The TAC fiber system provides installers with a fast and easy technique for deploying fiber seamlessly around baseboard, windows and trim work – holding firmly in place and nearly invisible to the casual observer.

  • Microcable fiber adheres to surface area with heat activation
  • Fast installation at up to 1 inch/s (3 cm/s)
  • Ergonomic, battery-operated handheld fiber dispenser tool
  • Removable sleeve on handheld device enables quick disengagement of fiber cable
  • Available in 300, 500 and 1000 foot cable spools
  • Fiber bonds consistently to common surface types in any indoor environment
  • Does not require messy caulking, staples or brackets
  • Same tool / cabling can be leveraged for any indoor installation
  • Installed cable almost undetectable to the casual observer
  • Reduced bend radius fiber technology is less susceptible to
attenuation loss as a result of handling and tight bends
  • Microcable compatible with field installable connectors,
or can be fusion spliced into the network
  • Cordless, portable — fiber dispenser tool travels anywhere
