Veracity’s New HIGHWIRE Powerstar Quad Boosts Your IP Camera Options When Using a Single Coax Cable

A new addition to the industry - leading HIGHWIRE™ family of Ethernet over Coax products, HIGHWIRE™ Powerstar Quad is a 4-port EoC adaptor with an integrated POE switch and the replacement for HIGHWIRE™ Quad (VHW-HWQ). The simple addition of this compact and stylish product to a single, legacy coax cable now enables the installer to design even greater coverage and security for their customer by connecting up to 4 cameras, or POE/non-POE devices.

Upgrading is simple; swap-out your single EoC device unit for the new HIGHWIRE™ Powerstar Quad (VHW-HWPS-C4) at the device-end of the coax cable, and connect the other to the RJ45 port on a HIGHWIRE™ Powerstar Base unit (VHW-HWPS-B). With typically 25W of POE available to use, simply calculate the required power budget for the 4 new devices, connect and instantly confirm connectivity and status at-a-glance by using the brand’s proprietary SafeView™ display.

A connect-and-go installation with no configuration necessary, HIGHWIRE™ Powerstar Quad delivers 100Base-TX Ethernet up to 350m over RG-59 (500m RG-6) – greater distances can be achieved by utilising an additional 100m of standard Ethernet connection either side of the devices. By eliminating costly redecoration through the use of legacy coax, more of the customer’s budget can then be allocated towards improving their security using the latest IP cameras.

This new addition to the HIGHWIRE™ family will soon be joined by the 2-port Duo, providing installers with an even wider range of solutions when upgrading their Coax customers to IP.
