The Anixter corporate sustainability program seeks to continuously improve the business processes to control and reduce the impact associated with the specific environmental aspects of energy, waste, materials, transportation and natural resources.

By focusing on measurable results within each environmental aspect combined with the use of a PathSM sustainable approach, which focuses on the economic, environmental and social impacts of the organization, ANIXTER balances corporate social responsibility, and investment profitability. Aligned with our sustainability policy, ANIXTER is participating in the various activities that take place worldwide. In May, ANIXTER participated in ASHRAE, Argentina.

ASHRAE is a world leader in the difussion of advanced technologies, standards, and best practices for construction, mechanical installations, HVAC installation, equipment, and design, aimed at energy efficiency and sustainable construction; it has been a leader around the world for 125 years.

ASHRAE Chapter Argentina held the biggest Sustainability and Development event in the country, where the most representative companies in the industry joined forces to accompany the first ASHRAE Congress in our region.

“Our objective is to create a space for the spreading of information about technologies, for the exchange of experiences and the development of strategies aimed at optimizing the use of resources and energy efficiency in particular. We understand that in times of energy crises in the world, our country needs to have tools to maneuver so that our buildings, industries, businesses and homes are sustainable. We possess those tools”.

“We understand our country and our region as one of the growth centers where the world poses its looks. That is why we are convinced that we can develop in a sustainable framework and hence the title of the Congress”, said president Walter Silva, from Chapter Argentina.

TRIPLE SESSION WITH 67 SPONSORS

The triple session began on Monday, May 14, at the Reserva Cardales. Despite inclement weather, more than 80 golfers enjoyed a great day of golf at the 5th ASHRAE Tournament. After golf, they moved to the traditional ASHRAE Night where more than 240 players, members and guests were treated to an excellent cocktail, major raffles, and prizes.

A large number of attendees both on Tuesday the 13th, and Wednesday the 14th, the First Sustainability and Development Congress by ASHRAE Chapter Argentina was held in the Faculty of Law, University of Buenos Aires.
