This means to develop Data Centers with standardized solutions based on considerations or predefined design hypotheses, so that the end user knows at an early stage what the scope of their solution is.

Main benefits obtained with this approach:

  1. Minimize the risk or design errors: By having standardized solutions, you can be certain about the appropriate operation of various inter-related subsystems.
  2. Standardize solutions: It will ensure that the technologies that are used will meet certain requirements that have no relation with the manufacturer.
  3. Reducing time to develop a Data Center project: this will have the engineering of some systems (one-line diagrams, schematics of network systems, thermodynamic systems, etc.).

We will start with 3 main modules. Then, at a later stage, a more detailed work will be done. The modules are:

  • Cooling: with its different types (direct expansion, cold water, etc.), and architectures (perimeter, row, cabinet).
  • Power: comprising the Switch Gear, UPS, batteries and accessories, transformers, panels and boards.
  • IT space: it mainly comprises cabinets that house all the IT equipment with the corresponding electrical, security and networking systems.

We can say now that the conceptual synthesis behind standardizing the infrastructure technology in a Data Center will ensure that an IT Manager can request, for instance, a "9inLine-1L" (nine server cabinets inline "dash" one end of row cabling/networking cabinet with low densitiy arrangement); articulating a solution that exceeds the total of 30 subsystems that make up the infrastructure of a Data Center, with all pre-designed, and tested parts, as well as all the verified documents.
