Safe Money

Financial security systems are multi-tech solutions involving all physical security areas, such as videosurveillance, access control and intrusion and fire detection. But these systems are also becoming single-platform due to the straightforward trend towards convergence in the networking world. Anixter has all the solutions needed to guarantee the tightest finance security!

From the user’s point of view, the term security makes reference to the certainty of feeling protected from any danger or threat, in their persons and goods, this latter understood as any tangible or intangible object of any value. This definition is a perfect reflection of what happens in the case of banking security: there is nothing more tangible than money in our pockets when we go to any given financial institution, and nothing less tangible than that same amount of money after we deposit it in an account where it is “virtualized” and available everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

Banking security systems are multi-tech solutions involving all physical security areas, such as videosurveillance, access control and intrusion and fire detection. But these systems are also becoming single-platform due to the straightforward trend towards convergence in the networking world.

IP Access Control, Key Solution

Every banking or commercial institution has specific requirements, and this is true either for a national bank in Mexico, a regional entity in Argentina or a financial conglomerate in Brazil. There are no unique solutions: all banking security systems designs are customized, and based on international standards, and, in many cases, local technologies relevant in each country.

For Anixter, one of the security banking areas with the biggest growth is IP-based access control, which offers some advantages unavailable for traditional systems before. The possibility to use the same transmission infrastructure as most devices and to share the data network allows systems to be managed remotely. In this way, and with little effort, it is possible to link two systems that can be located hundreds of miles away.

The access control system architecture is designed to exist in a hostile, complex environment, such as the Internet. The system’s security has been extensively proven. System accessories can demand Windows authentication, and, in this case, only users with the necessary permits can have access to the system’s sensitive data. Users’ interfaces rely on technologies such as SSL (Secure Socket Layer) for data transmission and encryption -identity codes, access levels, reports of logins/logouts, etc.- which are sent to and from controllers. System users’ information is then transmitted utilizing these protocols, which are similar to the ones used in secure web pages (https) for different commercial transactions.

These systems are capable of controlling everything, from a single door to full global systems with hundreds of accesses monitored by a distributed architecture system. Here, the intelligence resides on the entire network, not just a single server.

The best solutions, by the best vendors

We are fully aware banking security must be considered from two different viewpoints; the end user’s standpoint  -which is connected to operating dynamics, the service utility and daily operation-, and the service integrating company, in charge of the design and implementation processes. Anixter provides a different approach for each point of view. On the one hand, we offer Security Seminars for installing companies, and on the other hand, we provide a series of seminars for end users in different countries across Latin America. We also rely on the ongoing support of leading manufacturers in the Security and Communications Infrastructure markets, such as Axis, Bosch, Pelco and Tyco, among others.

At Anixter we have always thought of our company as an added value partner at a local, regional, and global level for our Integrator Channels. Service is our technology!
